Wall panels for bedrooms
A bedroom wall is judged on touch and light. Panels give the warmth of timber with a wipe-clean surface, and a V-groove joint reads as joinery rather than a printed sheet.

What this room demands
Bedroom walls are touched constantly — beside a bed, at a switch, at the wardrobe edge. A printed film over a soft core scuffs at those points; a laminated WPC panel or a rigid SPC panel resists it.
Lighting is usually a bedside source and a window, so raking light crosses the wall. That is what makes a groove line or a 3D relief read — and equally what makes a badly aligned joint obvious.
Ventilation matters more than in any other room because the door is closed. Specify a panel that does not hold odour, and avoid porous materials over a damp external wall.
Specification checklist
- Confirm wall flatness to 3 mm over 2 m before choosing a rigid panel
- Decide the joint orientation relative to the window and the main light source
- Set the headboard height line before ordering, so the feature panel is cut to the right module
- Allow for sockets, switches and bedside lighting points in the panel cut-out schedule
- Order 8–10% extra for cutting waste and future repair
- Specify the matching skirting and corner trim at the same time as the panels
Installation sequence
- Set out the groove or joint position from the room centre, not from a corner — the eye reads the centre line first.
- Fix battens or clips at 400 mm centres, or bond directly if the wall is flat and sound.
- Install from one corner, keeping the first panel plumb; every subsequent panel follows that line.
- Cut around sockets before fixing, not after, so the panel is not stressed at the opening.
- Finish with skirting, corner trims and, where specified, a matching ceiling or cove profile.

Bedroom — buyer questions
Which panel is best for a bedroom feature wall?
A 178 mm or 203 mm WPC panel in a wood grain, with the groove running vertically. It is warm to the touch, wipes clean and the groove gives the wall the joinery read that a flat printed board lacks.
Should the whole room be panelled or just one wall?
One wall is the common residential choice and keeps the cost proportionate. Full-room cladding makes sense in hotels, where it is faster than plaster and paint and easier to maintain between guests.
Is panelling suitable behind a bed?
Yes, and it is the most common position. Fix panels to battens so there is a small cavity for cables to bedside lighting, and confirm the headboard fixing detail before the panels go up.
Fitting out bedroom?
Send the plan or the wall measurements. We will return a panel take-off, a fixing list and a container loading plan.
