Soft Stone Wall Panels overview
Soft stone is a modified mineral composite: stone powder bonded in a flexible matrix. It carries the appearance and surface temperature of stone but arrives as a 2–4 mm sheet that can be rolled into a curve without cracking.
That flexibility solves a specific problem. Natural stone cannot clad a 600 mm column radius without dozens of small cut pieces and wide joints. A soft stone sheet wraps it in one continuous piece, with the grain running around the curve.
Sheet sizes go up to 1,220 × 2,440 mm, so a lift lobby wall can be clad in three or four pieces with hairline joints. Combined with the low weight — around 1.5 kg per square metre — this is also the practical choice for cladding an existing wall without any load assessment.

How it is installed
- Roll the sheet out flat for a few hours before installation; cold sheets are stiffer and harder to dress.
- Apply tile adhesive or MS polymer with a notched trowel across the full sheet.
- Press the sheet from the centre outwards, working around curves with a soft roller.
- Clean adhesive from the face immediately; the surface is textured and hard to clean once cured.

Soft stone or PU stone?
Soft stone for curves, large flat sheets and thin over-cladding where weight matters. PU stone for deep relief and a chunkier stone profile on a flat wall. If the wall is curved, soft stone is the only practical option of the two.
How does soft stone handle building movement?
Better than rigid stone. The flexible matrix accommodates substrate movement without cracking, which is why it is widely used on refurbishment and lightweight facades. Bridges and movement joints should still be respected and not covered.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
Yes, outside the direct spray zone. Seal the joints and the perimeter, and use a waterproof adhesive. Soft stone has low water absorption but it is not a tanking membrane.
