UV Marble Sheets overview
A UV marble sheet is a rigid PVC foam board printed with a marble or stone pattern, then sealed under a UV-cured coating. The coating is what separates it from a laminated board: it is hard, scratch resistant and glossy enough to read as polished stone under raking light.
Because the sheet is only 3 mm thick, it can be bonded directly over existing tile, plaster or plywood. That is the commercial argument: no demolition, no wet trades, no tiling crew. A hotel bathroom is closed and back in service within a day.
Standard sheet size is 1,220 × 2,440 mm, which matches a plywood module and a 40'HC pallet. We also cut 1,220 × 2,800 mm and 1,220 × 2,900 mm for walls that run floor to ceiling without a horizontal joint — the reason most hotel projects specify the taller sheet.

Where it is used
- Hotel and apartment bathroom walls and vanity backdrops
- TV walls, headboards and reception feature walls
- Retail display back walls and counter fascias
- Ceilings in wet rooms, where a seamless gloss is wanted
How it is installed
- Acclimatise the sheets flat in the room for 24 hours before cutting.
- Cut with a fine-tooth blade or a laminate knife; cut from the back to avoid chipping the UV coat.
- Bond with neutral-cure silicone or MS polymer adhesive in a bead pattern, leaving a 3 mm gap at edges.
- Seal joints with a colour-matched mastic if the wall is in a wet zone; use a slim H-trim for dry zones.
UV Marble Sheets — buyer questions
Is a UV marble sheet the same as a PVC marble sheet?
In practice yes, and the terms are used interchangeably. Strictly, a UV marble sheet has a UV-cured top coat, which gives higher gloss and better scratch resistance than a plain laminated PVC sheet. Ask what coating is applied, not what the sheet is called.
Can it be installed in a shower?
Yes, if the joints are sealed and the substrate behind is stable. The sheet itself is waterproof. The failure mode is water tracking behind an unsealed joint, so specify a neutral-cure sealant and a continuous bead at the tray junction.
Why do taller sheets cost more per square metre?
Because the yield from a production line drops. A 1,220 × 2,900 mm sheet uses more line time per square metre than a 2,440 mm sheet. The saving on site is fewer horizontal joints, which is usually worth more than the sheet premium.
