Wall panels for shops and retail

What this room demands
Brand consistency is the point. Panels can be produced in a custom colour or print to match a brand guideline, which most tile and paint systems cannot match as precisely.
Display units, shelving and signage all fix to the wall. The panel system needs a substrate capable of taking the load at the fixing positions.
Retail walls are damaged at hand height and at trolley height. A laminated or rigid panel resists that far better than a printed film over a soft board.
Specification checklist
- Confirm the brand colour reference and approve a production sample under shop lighting
- Plan shelving and signage fixing positions and specify blocking behind them
- Choose a scuff-resistant finish for the 800–1,200 mm band
- Confirm the fire classification for a commercial retail premises
- Allow for seasonal display changes with a reconfigurable fixing system
- Order 8–10% extra panels for display changes and repair
Installation sequence
- Set out from the shopfront or the brand axis rather than a rear corner.
- Install blocking or battens at every shelving and signage position before cladding.
- Fix panels from the set-out line, keeping joints vertical and consistent with the display grid.
- Cut out for sockets, signage and AV, and finish each opening with a trim or gasket.
- Complete with skirting and corner trims and record the layout for future merchandising.

Retail Shop — buyer questions
Can panels be produced in a brand colour?
Yes. Solid colours are matched to a RAL or Pantone reference and we produce a sample for approval under the shop lighting. Custom print is also available for a signature pattern.
How much weight can a panelled retail wall take?
The panel does not carry the load — the substrate behind it does. Specify blocking or a batten at every shelving position. Tell us the shelf loads and we will supply the fixing detail.
Which finish resists shop traffic best?
A rigid SPC panel or a laminated WPC panel in the 800–1,200 mm band, where hands, bags and trolleys make contact. Gloss marble sheets look better but show scratches, so keep gloss finishes above hand height.
Fitting out retail shop?
Send the plan or the wall measurements. We will return a panel take-off, a fixing list and a container loading plan.
