Flexible Stone Wall Panels overview
Flexible stone veneer is a modified clay sheet 1–2 mm thick, printed and embossed with stone or wood textures. At around 1 kg per square metre it adds negligible load, which makes it the practical answer for over-cladding on a wall whose structure is unknown or already loaded.
It is also the cheapest way to change the appearance of a large area quickly. Because the sheet is thin and flexible, it wraps columns, follows coves and covers compound curves that would otherwise need a specialist substrate build-up.
The trade-off is tactile. A 2 mm sheet does not have the depth of a moulded PU stone panel or a cast soft stone sheet, and under raking light a sharp eye can tell. Specify it for large background areas and reserve moulded panels for the focal wall.

Where it is used
- Over-cladding existing walls without demolition
- Curved columns, coves and compound geometry
- Lift interiors and lightweight facade panels
- Large background areas on a tight budget
How it is installed
- Prime the substrate and let it dry fully; contact adhesive performs poorly over dust or damp.
- Cut with scissors or a knife — no power tools required, which keeps the work clean in occupied buildings.
- Apply contact adhesive to both sheet and substrate, allow to flash off, then press from the centre outwards.
- Roll the surface firmly to remove air, and cut edges after installation rather than before.
Flexible Stone Wall Panels — buyer questions
How does flexible veneer compare with soft stone?
Veneer is thinner, lighter and cheaper, with less tactile depth. Soft stone sheets are 2–4 mm and carry a more convincing stone surface. For a focal wall choose soft stone; for large background areas or tight budgets choose veneer.
Can it be installed in an occupied building?
Yes, and that is one of its advantages. It needs no demolition, generates little dust and can be cut with hand tools. Many of our projects are hotel and office refurbishments carried out floor by floor while the building stays open.
Does the print repeat across sheets?
Yes, on a fixed repeat length stated per texture. On large areas, order panels in one batch and mix the sheets during installation — a single batch plus mixed laying removes any visible repeat banding.
